Powderhorn - Upper
Powderhorn - Lower
Upon approaching the waterfalls you will come out onto a rocky outcropping. Ahead and slightly to the right is the upper falls, visible by looking down into a shallow gorge. The view of the lower waterfall is obstructed by a large rock. Climb down into the shallow gorge with the aid of a rope that is tied up above. Alternately, hike slightly upstream and come in from the top of the waterfall for an easier access.
The lower falls is the nicer of the two. It is in the deeper part of the gorge. A rope (seen in the upper right picture) gives you a handhold during the descent down the steep hillside to the river's edge. You must cross the shallow river to get the view as seen in the main picture here.
