Saxon Falls

of Michigan

Phil Stagg

The Montreal River's power is harnessed here and near the mouth of the river at Superior Falls.  Saxon Falls is really two waterfalls, the upper drop falling partway down into a gorge before the river turns abruptly, working over to the other side of the river and then drops down the rest of the way to the gorge floor.  Approach from Wisconsin's side.  Head over to the Michigan side of the gorge for the safest and easiest viewing.
