Everglades City: A Scenic Puzzle of Riverfront Charm and Family Memories
A Peaceful Morning in Florida’s Last Frontier
Everglades City is more than a gateway to the Everglades—it’s a peaceful waterfront town where nature, history, and recreation meet. Our “Everglades City” puzzle captures this unique blend, featuring the Barron River, a charming boardwalk, and the luxurious Everglades Isle RV Resort—a favorite destination for travelers seeking comfort and adventure.
What Sparked the Trip
This puzzle was inspired by a special family moment. For Luke’s senior year spring break, I wanted to do something memorable. Luke is significantly younger than his siblings—14 years younger than our oldest and 7 years younger than the second youngest—so Cindy and I felt it was important to give him an experience that was just for him. That idea turned into a trip to Florida, a few days of adventure, and some time to simply enjoy being together. We flew into Fort Myers, and the rest is history.
The Morning That Inspired This Puzzle
The photo featured in this puzzle was taken near Grimm’s Stone Crab, looking across the Barron River at Everglades Isle RV Resort. It was early morning, just after sunrise. The sky was painted in subtle shades of orange, pink, and purple, with soft clouds drifting overhead. The river was calm, and the whole scene felt peaceful—a moment worth capturing.
The Barron River
At the heart of Everglades City flows the Barron River, a tidal waterway that connects to Chokoloskee Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. It’s a hub for boating, fishing, and wildlife viewing, offering a serene backdrop for visitors and locals alike.
Boardwalk Views
The boardwalk along the Barron River is a favorite spot for strolling and soaking in the scenery. From boats gliding by to mangroves lining the shore, it’s a picture-perfect setting that reflects the laid-back charm of this coastal town.
Everglades Isle RV Resort
Everglades City is a popular stop for RV travelers seeking adventure and relaxation. The Everglades Isle RV Resort, located right on the Barron River, offers waterfront motorcoach sites, luxury villas, and resort-style amenities. It’s the perfect base for exploring the Everglades while enjoying comfort and convenience.
Other Highlights of Our Trip
Beyond the boardwalk and river views, we spent time at the beach—a few days that Cindy described perfectly: “Just relax.” For me, relaxing doesn’t come easy. I’m always moving, always planning, always thinking ahead. Even on vacation, I find myself restless, looking for the next thing to do. But those quiet moments by the water, watching the waves roll in, reminded me why slowing down matters—even if I never fully settle. Sharing that time with Luke and Cindy made the trip unforgettable.
