There’s a quiet strength in the way Point Betsie Lighthouse stands beneath a gray sky. Captured from the southwest side of the beach—looking up the dune—this photo freezes a moment where nature, history, and symbolism converge. The American flag waves proudly beside the lighthouse, while lilacs bloom vibrantly in the foreground, softening the scene with their gentle color and fragrance.

Tahquamenon Falls isn’t just a destination—it’s a part of our family’s story. Nestled in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, this breathtaking natural wonder has welcomed us more times than we can count. From spontaneous day trips to planned vacations, it’s always been a place of peace, adventure, and togetherness.

Each May, Holland, Michigan transforms into a vibrant canvas of color and culture during the Tulip Time Festival. For me, this celebration is more than just a floral showcase—it's a cherished tradition. From walking downtown with friends, tossing a frisbee in the park, sipping coffee and smoothies, to visiting Cherry Republic, the festival is a sensory delight. One of my favorite views during the festival was from Riverview Park located beside Window On The Waterfront, right beside the Macatawa River. From the park’s overlook, we admired Windmill Island across the swampy waters—a tranquil scene framed by nature and rich with nostalgia.

It was one of those serene mornings in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula—the kind where the fog hangs low, the air smells like pine needles and possibility, and you start to believe nature might just be your best friend. I was at Oswald Bear Ranch, camera in hand, hoping to capture something special for my puzzle line. I didn’t expect to stumble into a scene that looked like it was straight out of a Disney movie… or a bear survival guide.

A couple of years ago, I embarked on a photographic adventure that led me to one of the most breathtaking sights I've ever witnessed. As a photographer and the founder of Phil Stagg Photography, I have always been drawn to the natural beauty of Michigan. This particular journey took me to Miners Castle, a stunning rock formation along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, with the Northern Lights dancing in the background over Lake Superior. The result was a mesmerizing photo that I later transformed into a 500-piece puzzle for my brand, MI Puzzles.
